Hazardous Spill Response Training
Hazardous material spillages may endanger your health and the environment. By attempting to clean up a hazardous spill with no proper training, you may similarly endanger yourself as well as others and the environment. No matter how effectively the spill response material is designed, it serves the user with limited capabilities and protection if it is not applied in the proper manner.

Our in-house qualified trainers will be able to provide training on how to prepare for and respond to hazardous spills. Training program will cover use of respiratory protective gear, clean-up equipment and supplies, and proper response procedures to be followed before, during and after a spill. With the proper preparation, your organization will be able to handle hazardous material spills effectively. Certification will be provided for trained workers as part of the training records, which satisfies ISO 14000 requirement.

Hearing Protection Training
In order to ensure proper hearing protection, hearing protection device must be fitted (ear plugs) or worn (ear muffs) properly.

Our comprehensive hearing protection training program includes on the selection, proper use, care and maintenance of hearing protection products and their limitations. This is in accordance to Singapore Standard CP 76: 1999 (in particular, section 8.7 to 11). Certification will be provided for trained workers as part of the training records requirement (section 9.4).

Fitting Your Reusable Ear Plugs
Checking The Fit Of Your Reusable Ear Plugs
When properly fit, the ear plug should not move when you touch the stem of the ear plug.
Always fit your ear plugs so that they seal the ear closed. Once you put both plugs in, check the fit by talking out loud. Your voice should sound hollow, as if you are talking in a barrel. The noises around you should not sound as loud as they did before you put the plugs in.
Re-check the fit often. Your ear plugs may loosen up when you talk and chew. If this happens, you could lose your protection from noise.
If you don't get a good seal, you may get little or no protection from noise, so try another type of hearing protector.

Respiratory Training and Qualitative Fit Testing
To ensure proper respiratory protection, the respirator facepiece must seal against the face of the wearer. If the respirator does not completely seal against the face, even the best designed, performance proven, internationally certified (NIOSH / MSHA) respirators provide very limited protection.

LSH is committed to ensure that all our customers and end-users achieve the best level of respiratory protection. Our comprehensive training program covers on the selection, use, maintenance and limitations of respirators, in accordance to Singapore Standard CP 74: 1998 (in particular, section 10 to 12).

Qualitative fit testing services are also available to customers buying our respirators, to ensure respirators are fitted properly. Certification will be provided for fit-tested workers as part of the training records requirement (section 10.4).

Wearing Your Filtering Facepiece Respirator
1. Place the respirator over your nose and mouth. Be sure the metal nose clip is on top. With models 8210 or 07048, pre-stretch the straps before wearing.
2. Pull the top strap over your head until it rests on the crown of your head above your ears.
3. Pull the bottom strap over your head until it rests just below your ears.
4. Using both hands starting at the top, mold the metal nose clip around your nose to achieve a secure fit.
Wearing Your Elastomeric Full Facepiece Respirator
1. Fully loosen all four head straps. Pull hair back with one hand. Bring facepiece up to face with other hand.
2. While holding the facepiece in place, pull the straps over your head.
3. Tighten the two bottom straps.
4. Tighten the two top straps.
Check The Seal Of Your Elastomeric Respirator
1) Positive Pressure User Seal Check
Place the exhale gently. The facepiece should bulge slightly. If air leaks between the face and the face seal of the respirator, reposition it and adjust the straps for a tighter seal. If you cannot achieve a proper seal, do not enter the contaminated area. See your supervisor.
2) Negative Pressure User Seal Check
Using Particulate Filters
Place your thumbs over the center of the particulate filters and inhale gently. The facepiece should collapse slightly. If air leaks between the face and the face seal of the respirator, reposition it and adjust the straps for a tighter seal. If you cannot achieve a proper seal, do not enter the contaminated area. See your supervisor.

Using Cartridges
Place the palms of your hands over the cartridges and inhale gently. The facepiece should collapse slightly. If air leaks between the face and the face seal of the respirator, reposition it and adjust the straps for a tighter seal. If you cannot achieve a proper seal, do not enter the contaminated area. See your Supervisor.
