In Singapore, the Factories (Industrial footwear) Notification 1986 requires all industrial footwear, provided and maintained for the use of persons employed in a factory under the Factories Act, to be tested to conform to the No. SS105. 1997 (effective 1st April 1998).
According to Singapore Productivity and Standards Board's (SPSB) Batch Testing of Safety Shoes, all shoes provided for persons employed in any factory exposed to foot injury from hot, corrosive substances or falling objects shall conform to SS No.105. Ministry Of Labour requires safety footwear used in factories in Singapore to be subjected to batch testing and labelled with (SPSB) "Batch Inspected" labels. |
